Funk Breaks Vol. 1
96 sliced breaks ripped from 7-inch funk and soul records. Stem-separated, tempo-mapped, key-tagged. Drop into a sampler and chop, or use the pre-cut variants.
A two-person London imprint cutting drum breaks off rare 7-inch funk, soul and library records. We dig at the fairs, track them clean through a Neve preamp, slice them tight, and clear them for release. No sample-credit chains. No royalty traps.
Buy a single volume or save GBP 49 and grab the Vault. Every file is cleared for commercial release. No interpolations, no recoups, no sample-credit chains.
96 sliced breaks ripped from 7-inch funk and soul records. Stem-separated, tempo-mapped, key-tagged. Drop into a sampler and chop, or use the pre-cut variants.
84 breaks pulled from 70s soul and early disco library records. Long fills, four-bar loops, half-bar transitions. Heavy on the snares that sit forward in a mix.
78 breaks from rare Latin, library and incidental records. Boogaloo, samba, KPM-style production cues. Some odd time signatures, all key-tagged so you know what you are loading.
480 single hits sliced and tagged from the same source records. Kicks, snares, hats, percussion, claps and odd one-shots. Build your own kit, or layer them under your own drums.
Everything Partnercord has pressed since 2018, in one zip. 258 sliced breaks across funk, soul, disco, Latin and library. 480 tagged one-shots. Lifetime updates / when we add new breaks, you get them.
Partnercord lives in a basement room off White Post Lane, behind the Hackney Wick overground. The walls are insulation board, the ceiling is a tangle of patch cables, and the floor takes about a thousand records. Joe digs, Mira tracks. We started in 2018 because every break we wanted to use came with a sample-credit footnote, and we had had enough of that.
Every break is lifted from a physical record we own. Spitalfields, Brick Lane, Greenwich. We pick by feel, not by hype, and pay cover price not collector price. Most weeks we come back with twenty 7-inches.
Records track through a clean Technics 1200, a Neve 1073-style preamp, into a Lynx converter at 96 kHz. Each break is re-recorded so the source phrase is unrecognisable, then run past a copyright database before it ships.
When we add new breaks to a volume, you get them. We do not run subscription tiers, deluxe versions, or limited-time discounts. One price, files for life. Plain English licence. Your A&R will not flag it.
"Ripped a chorus drum break from Soul & Disco straight onto a single, no edits. Sat better in the mix than my own kit. Counsel cleared it without a phone call."
"The Latin & Library volume is the one. Boogaloo breaks at the right BPM range for what I do. I have used eleven of them on a record so far and not one has needed EQ surgery."
"The One-Shot Cabinet is a workhorse. I use the kicks under my own drum machine kicks for weight, and the snares for the top end. 480 hits, every one labelled, no rummaging."
"Bought the Vault on a Friday, had three rough beats by Sunday. Funk Breaks Vol. 1 is loaded, the disco one is sneakier. The disco breaks are the ones I keep going back to."
"Honest pack. Tempo-mapped and key-tagged the way they say. I have bought twelve break libraries this year and Partnercord is the only one I open more than once."
"Licence language is plain English, which is rare. My A&R signed off on the first read, no edits. The Latin & Library volume has saved a few sessions for me already."
We answer everything from licence questions to "is this break in F minor or F sharp" in under one business day, from the basement in Hackney Wick.
