Partnercord ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

We are Partnercord, a digital sample imprint based in Hackney Wick, London, United Kingdom. You can reach us at info@partnercord.com. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Partnercord is the data controller for the personal data we hold about you.

2. What we collect

  • Your name and email address at checkout
  • Order details and payment confirmation (no full card numbers are stored by us)
  • IP address and browser type, used for fraud prevention and download-link issuance
  • Anything you put into the contact form

Because we sell digital audio files only, we do not collect physical addresses or phone numbers.

3. Lawful basis

We process your data on the following lawful bases under Article 6 of the UK GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract: to deliver your purchase and provide support
  • Legal obligation: to comply with HMRC accounting and tax record requirements
  • Legitimate interest: to prevent fraud and maintain the integrity of our service

4. How we use your data

  • To process your purchase and deliver your download links
  • To send order confirmations and download instructions
  • To respond to support requests and licence queries
  • To comply with UK tax and accounting law

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Payment processing

Payments are processed securely through Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. We never see or store your full card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

6. Data sharing

We share data only with the processors that allow Partnercord to operate: Stripe (payments), our hosting provider, and our transactional email provider for order confirmations and download links. All processors are bound by data-processing agreements.

7. Retention

We retain order records for 7 years to comply with HMRC requirements under the Finance Act. Contact-form enquiries are deleted 12 months after the conversation closes. You can request deletion sooner via the rights below, subject to legal retention obligations.

8. Your rights under the UK GDPR

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request erasure (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Request portability of your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object to processing and restrict processing where applicable
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk

We respond to subject-access requests within one calendar month, in line with Article 12 of the UK GDPR.

9. International transfers

Where our processors transfer personal data outside the UK or European Economic Area, those transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision recognised by the UK government.

10. Cookies

This site uses essential, session-level cookies only. No advertising or third-party analytics cookies are set without consent.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available here with a revised date.
